DIY FABRIC: Faux Batik Pressed Paint Technique
I've been wanting to play around with discharge dyeing (lifting color from fabric with bleach) to create a faux batik effect and I bought a maxi-dress to give it a try. Problem was, the dress was 50% polyester and didn't take the bleach for whatever reason. So I went to Plan B:
Tulip® 3D Fashion Paint in White Slick
If you draw on your fabric with the white paint, fold the farirc and press, it flattens the paint into a see-thru texture that looks a lot like...batik! You can play around with other colors for different looks. I was so excited for this project that I made this video tutorial. Hopefully it will inspire you!
