Best Buy and crafty living? In my world, yes! (Plus a $100 giveaway!)

 This is the newest member of our family and boy is he L.O.V.E.D!! Remember last month when I went to Best Buy and installed Sirius XM Radio in my car and studio? Well, now I've had a whole month to indulge in the system in my art studio and it's made life and creations much happier. I dance more when no one is watching, okay...um, at least in my mind I do!!!

I'm happy that Best Buy has decided to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with their MiCultura campaign, and I'm delighted I was chosen to join in by incorporating satellite radio into my art studio - and house and car and iPhone, actually. Not only are they promoting the Latin and world stations on SiriusXM, they are also featuring inspiring segments called "Latino Trailblazers". One of my book editors, Rene Alegria (founder of Mamiverse.com), is one of them! Check out his video profile!

 I'm all over the place when it comes to music. I listen to tunes more than I watch TV or read! It transports my imagination and inspires me to create in different styles. When I'm in the right groove, my creativity flies. What I love about SiriusXM Radio is that has more than 135 commercial-free stations and I'm on a mission to listen to each and every one of them! Whether I'm in the mood for Brit-pop, artsy-folksy ballads, Latin alternative, reggaeton, Martha's and Oprah's tips, etc - it's all there.

I had my system installed at Best Buy, the device goes right under your radio or stereo system in your car. I also went for the boom box that allows me to play my device anywhere in my house.

ALSO ----you can sign in online and play it over your computer, as well as my iPhone. If you are interested, just stop in your local Best Buy (they have associates in more than 1000 stores that can assist in both English and Spanish) and ask for a demo and they'll be glad to help. You can purchase the subscription with pre-paid cards, I like that part!

This is my reason for subscribing - it allows me to intake NEW music and artists that I wouldn't normally have time to find. Yes, I have all my comfort zones tunes, but as a designer, an artist and a writer, it's always crucial to stay "in tune" with what is going on in the world and not get trapped in the past. I love it when I'm playing a new artist and my kids casually walk by and say "Who's that?"
Or when I'm at an event and some says  "Thank you for blogging about such and such band, I would have never have discovered them!"

There is a lot of great new music out there, we just have to keep our ears open, so to say to find it!
