Chunky Book Pages (Group Project)

Marissa is a fellow Arizonan who recently shared a cool project with me. She attends Art Unraveled every year and participates in a group "Chunky Book" project. This is where everyone makes a batch of duplicate chunky pages using mixed media techniques and then passes them out to one another. Eventually, everyone has a book filled with all these cool pages made by different artists!

From Marissa:
"While my work reflects a variety of ideas, my Latina background inspires how I approach artmaking. First and foremost, I love to recycle and repurpose materials. Metal plumbing tape, pages from old books and things other people throw away present the challenge of how I can give that material a new, artistic life. I'm a transplanted Angeleno and have fallen in love with Arizona. My 20 plus years here have included earning an MFA, teaching art to elementary students for over 15 years and raising my daughter and our two K9 delinquents."

Go be shiny,
Kathy :-)
