PHX Shoe Shrine Workshop, August 3

 One of my most popular blog posts is this shoe shrine project! I'm very excited to share that I'll be teaching this workshop at this year's Art Unraveled on Wednesday, August 3rd, 6:30-9:30 pm at the Embassy Suites 4415 E Paradise Village Parkway S, Phoenix, AZ. Check out what it includes...

The class is $75 (+$10 kit fee) and includes a new shoe, glitter, Loteria cards, charms, trims, papers - and lots more! I'll show you the process of:

- How to glitter a shoe the correct way.
- How to layer papers and objects.
- How to mix glitter colors.
- Artful composition.
- Glue 101: What type of glue to use with specific objects. 
- Folklore and storytelling about Mexican myths. 

The items I bring for this workshop are wild, kitschy colorful and embody the spirit of what I call Mexikitsch. Students will also receive a signed copy of my new novel, as well as handmade bookmark to go with it.

 You can dedicate your shoe shrine to a person or goal and bring pictures of your own, or you can make it as a note holder, a photo frame, a pencil cup, or anything else you can think of.
