bareMinerals Skincare! Giveaway too!

You never know who is reading your blog!

Recently I received an email from the folks at bareMinerals asking if I would try samples of their new skin care line to use on the cruise. Um, yes! Here is my review:

I didn't want to wait until I boarded the ship to try the products - you know in case I had an allergic reaction or something? That would be the last thing I needed before confronting 50 hungry crafty ladies! I popped open the boxes and have been using both the cleanser and moisturizer for a week.

Here is their spiel:
PURELY NOURISHING MOISTURIZER for combination skin
  • What it is: This universal moisturizer effectively hydrates skin while improving firmness, elasticity, radiance and overall skin texture. Powered by our RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex with its unique electrolyte delivery system, it’s formulated to perfectly moisturize combination skin. It also includes a powerful blend of antioxidants that help protect against environmental stressors.
  • Directions: Apply morning and night for best results.
  • Price: $28, 50mL/1.7Fl.Oz. Click here to buy.
And the cleanser too!
PURIFYING FACIAL CLEANSER
  • What it is: We believe in what works. In our underground prelaunch of this product, customers called this a super cleanser and gave it stellar reviews. Powered by our RareMinerals ActiveSoil Complex, it removes makeup, dissolves impurities and rebalances skin for a soft, smooth complexion. Skin is left perfectly clean, instantly hydrated and renewed. It’s also gentle enough for eye makeup removal. Sulfate free.
  • Directions: Splash face with water and massage cleanser over entire face to create a light, creamy lather. Rinse with warm water. Use morning and night for best results.
  • Price: $20, 177mL/6 Fl.Oz. Click here to buy.
Yes, my skin is soft and super clean, love the products. Definitely more radiant skin. I like how the cleanser is super creamy and smells yummy. Indulgent! Honestly, I don't really use anything on my skin except makeup wipes, so this was an automatic improvement. If it weren't for the provided samples, I don't think I would have ever tried this skincare line (I would have rather spent my moola on craft supplies or books!).

However, this little experiment reminded me that it's important to take care of my skin and invest in it, whether it is this product or another. These products are $28, a little spendy for me, but I think next time I'm ready to splurge, 'll treat myself. I can spare that for my skin!

  4. I don't think my secret is much of a secret but I put all my moisturizers on while my skin is still moist from the shower. I put my face moisturizer on first to give it more time to sink in and then take care of the rest!

  5. When I was in 7th grade I got my first zit...my grandmother said, "no more wash cloths will touch your face ever again...from now on you will wash your face with Noxzema!" and I have been doing that ever since. I am 54 yrs old now and have never had another blemish on my face! Grandmothers always know best! ;-)

  6. I use Olay facial scrub in the shower everyday and their facial lotion each morning. Then at night I use their night cream for your face. When I wear make up I use their cleansing cloths in the shower to remove it.

I have to be pretty careful with using products on my face, I have had some nasty reactions.

  10. I wash my skin nightly with a washrag and warm water. The washrag provides enough exfoliation. I sue Bare Mineral cleanser about every other day and use their moisturizer.

  11. Wow - my favorite skincare tip is to get a CLARISONIC. It's a cleansing tool made by the same folks who make the SONICARE toothbrush. You can use it with ANY sort of cleanser, and let me tell you, YOUR SKIN WILL NEVER BE THE SAME. So clean, so fresh - it's AWESOME!!

My skin's both sensitive and oily, so I alternate use of different types of products. That way I don't get overly dry, irritated, or moisturized, but get some oil control, some exfoliation, some acne treatment, some moisturizing . . . an easy way to remember to do this is to keep a different product in the shower from what's at the sink, for example.

  16. I love B.E.!!!! I have been using them for six years and won't go to anything else. I have been waiting for a good cleanser line from them.

I love the B.E. Prime Eyelid Primer. It helps prevent the cracks in your eye make up.

Thanks for this chance to win some terrific products. I wouldn't have known of the new skin care line if you hadn't mentioned it.

  18. Those products sound great! Love to have some. The best thing I ever did for my skin was to begin using a moisturizer w/ SPF15 daily while I was still in college. Really think it's helped keep those nasty wrinkles away.
