CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS: Indie Chic @ 10th Street

I produced two Phoenix Indie Craftorama's last year and both were success stories. I loved putting them together, mostly just to connect with all the local talent. I met all kinds of creative artists and got to hear their stories of how they got started.

Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to put another PIC together. I was really bummed because I get emails about it all the time. Just when I thought all hope was lost, I received an email from Lekha from ASU's Herberger Institute for Design & the Arts. She asked if I was organizing another show and if I'd want to join forces. I told her about my crazy schedule and declined, but the good news is she and her staff have put together a whole new concept for a bigger and better event. I've volunteered to help with applicant judging!

If you live in Arizona and are a die hard crafter and/or artist and have exciting wares to share, sign up for this event! It's called Indie Chic @ 10th Street and will be held December 5th on the ASU campus. That is the same weekend and location as the Tempe Festival of the Arts, so the crowd will be huge!

NOTE: Let's really try to amp up our local crafting scene here in the 602, 480 and 623! If you know of an event, send me info and I'll blog about it.

Indie Chic @ 10th Street is an alternative craft fair with a collection of art and crafts. The show features local vendors and handmade items ranging from clothing to jewelry to ceramics and wall art.

Shop handmade and local. Why? It helps the environment by reducing your carbon footprint, it keeps your hard-earned money in the community and it supports Phoenix’s handmade revolution!

Thank you for your interest in participating in Indie Chic @ 10th Street!
All items sold at Indie Chic @ 10th Street must be handmade. This is a juried event with a limited number of slots. We anticipate that we will receive many applications and cannot accept everyone. The application deadline is November 5, 2009. We will send out notifications by November 12, 2009. We will not consider your application if it is not complete or if we receive it after the deadline. A complete application includes a completed form and photos.
By completing the application you agree to all terms and conditions.
