Tonight I'm demoing a Dia de los Muertos craft at the International Discworld convention. It is a popular fantasy/sci fi book series by author Terry Pratchett.
From Wikipedia:
"Discworld is a comedic fantasy book series by the British author Terry Pratchett, set on the Discworld, a flat world balanced on the backs of four elephants which, in turn, stand on the back of a giant turtle,[1] Great A'Tuin. The books frequently parody, or at least take inspiration from, J. R. R. Tolkien, Robert E. Howard, H. P. Lovecraft and William Shakespeare, as well as mythology, folklore and fairy tales, often using them for satirical parallels with current cultural, political and scientific issues."

I was told that the convention will be filled with hundreds of fans dressed in costume. I told DeAngelo about it, hoping he would be excited to go and he was!
I mentioned this on Twitter the other day and found out there are a lot of crafters into Discworld. Look at Planet June's crocheted interpretation (click here to see her blog post):

So that will be our Friday night! I'll post pictures if I see any wild, crafty costumes!
Peace, love, and glitter!
Kathy :-)
P.S. Check out my new book and product line!
I think I read a couple of these books as a kid & loved them, thanx for reminding me of them. I'm always looking for fun books with worlds that I can escape to!
