You are so lucky. Years ago, my Poppi promised to leave me a turquoise ring that he never took off when he passed away. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with Mesotheleomia in 2007 and lost a startling amount of weight and the ring no longer fit his fingers. It slipped off during a trip to the doctor and was lost. He has since then passed away.
I hope that you treasure that ring forever. I am sorry for your loss.
Oh my God Kathy, what a treasure and I can so relate to this! On my right hand I have worn my Dad's original wedding ring(that had to be cut off because my Mom wanted to replace it with a new one). The second it was cut off, I asked if I could have it. He said yes! So, I had it put back together so it would fit my right ring finger and I've never taken it off since (and when he passed away my oldest sister got the replacement ring). The ring is my treasure! I'm sure you'll enjoy yours and what a great memory and constant reminder for you of your Dad. I hope you enjoy your ring as much as I do mine! Be well.
