Crafty shout outs!
It's due time for a new batch of crafty shout outs! These are over-the-top achievements by people I know and admire, or sites and things I've found and want to share. In no particular order...
Enjoy!
1. Latin America in the Modern Age.
This is a muy cool new site featuring all kinds of rockin' imported goods from Latin American countries. It is by an interior designer who discovered...
That Latin America is more than salsa and fiestas, coffee beans and bananas, sombreros and panama hats. Its ancient artisans have evolved into imaginative designers and its unknown cities are becoming exciting metropolises with contemporary cafes and chic boutiques.
2. Jennifer Perkins' new book is officially out today!

If you like livin' large and feelin' flashy you will totally dig
The Naughty Secretary Club is packed with more than 50 kitschy-secretary-themed jewelry projects, plus lots of quirky sidebars covering hot topics such as office romance and the best secretary theme songs to listen to on your lunch break. You’ll learn how to use your office supplies in a whole new way - did you know standard office fare, like binder folders and shredded junk mail, makes craftalicious jewelry? Plus, author Jennifer Perkins will teach you how to turn almost anything into a charm, including plastic gnome cake toppers, doll furniture and cast-off hotel keys.
3. Stacy McQueen's, The Craft Whore, new web site!!

I've posted her hilarious vids here, now I'm happy to report Stacy has a new cyber home to host all of them!
4. Frida Lookalike Casting Call!

One of my artsy inspirations is Rio Yanez, and he is currently working on a Frida-friendly project with the San Francisco Museum of Art. They are having a model search to recreate Frida's paintings and moments in her life as living art. The next (and last) casting call is this Saturday.I will so be going to this exhibit!
5. My friend Krissi is coming out with a line of SkeleKitty rubber stamps!

See her blog for updates!
6. IndieFixx Craft-Off Contest!

Here are the rules and you can win all kinds of crafty loot, as seen in the photo above!
From Jen Wallace:
In order to win the Indie Fixx Craft-Off, you must create a crafty item of some sort and that craft must incorporate the number two in some way. I’m not picky about the type of craft and I will even accept creations that are more artsy or diy in nature, but whatever you decide to do, you must create it solely for the contest and you must incorporate the number two.
7. Margot Potter and her award-winning video series has a new installment!
8. Claudine Hellmuth just released her new product line too!! Sticky back canvas? Genius!
9. A Terri O Show!
Every week Terri Ouellette, Emmy winner, demos new art products on the market and tells us where to find them andhow to use them. She has an internet radio show too!! Check out the link and you'll see what I mean!
10. Only a few more days to enter Creativity 350!

Oh gosh, did I miss anyone? I didn't mean to. Have something to shout out? Leave it in the comments - a show, your site, your art, a gig, etc!

I have a site you might like! I publish the Daily DIY which links to all the crafty DIY and how-to projects on the web each day. We've linked to quite a few of your projects. In fact, we have your ribbon frame in today's edition. It goes out every weekday at 5pm!
Wow, thank you, Rachel!!!
I am bookmarking it right now, I've been there before! Here is the link!

Oh my, THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting about Skelekitty's stamps!
I love LAMA !!
A great place to see some designs from Argentina is the Flickr group called Argentinean Design -- their photo pool is here:

Another great source for things from Latin America (and all over the world) is http://www.novica.com -- they sell on eBay.
HI Kathy,
I love your ideas in the AZ Republic. If you ever need any sewing help please call us at Home Fashions U in Peoria. We don't use a glue gun much but we love Sealah Tape, a double sided machine washable adhesive. Especially for our NO SEW Roman Shades and Grommet Draperies.
