Call for Phoenix artists

This was sent to me by my friend, Jenny Ignaszewsi. If you are artsy and live in the Phoenix area, check it out!

BE A PART OF AN AMAZING COMMUNITY INSTALLATION!

Please create a Prayer Flag for the Community Prayer Flag installation in downtown Phoenix, March 7, 8 and 9, 2008.

PrayerFlags will hang outside at various studios and galleries during downtown Phoenix's 20th Annual Art Detour weekend.

Traditionally, PrayerFlags are used to promote peace, compassion, strength and wisdom.

Your Prayer Flag can be an affirmation, a wish, a blessing. It can be words or images, painted or printed or magic markered, quilted or glued or collaged. It can be made of cloth, paper or other lightweight material. Each panel can be no larger than 9" x 9".

You can make a single panel or as many as nine panels per artist. If you make more than one panel, please string your panels on a piece of twine to create a flag, leaving at least 12 inches of twine at both ends to be able to tie to other flags. Or send your panels and we'll string them. Please leave 1/4 inch at the top of each panel if we will be stringing them.

Flags will not be returned so that they may be displayed in future installations. If you have any questions, please email Ruth Davis at RuthRD@manymanos.com
