Manu Chao is one of my all-time favorite musical artists. So much that sometimes Patrick even gets jealous because of all my raving. Especially when I asked if we could drive to Cali to see Manu Chao perform. on Patrick's birthday. Didn't go over too well. JK, Patrick wants to see him in concert too (he better!). Someday, I hope. In the meantime, it's earbud city for me.
Manu's new album La Radiolina just came out Tuesday. I'm eagerly waiting for my copy to arrive. Normally I nab my discs off of iTunes, but not this one. Nuh-uh. I want the actual CD, just to see the artwork, read the liner notes and kiss the cover. Don't tell Patrick!
Here is one of three videos for the track, Rainin' in Paradise. It is my favorite because of all the visual elements. Manu Chao is great music to create art too. His lyrics and melodies will jump start your spirit and make your mind trip out (in a good way!).

You're gonna be thrilled when La Radiolina arrives. I hadn't expected to like it as much as earlier albums, I tried not to get too excited, but I love it more each time I listen. Too bad you couldn't buy it locally--I was at out local independent record store when they opened Tuesday morning. Oh, and as for that live show, it's worth a drive to wherever. He came to Portland in May and the show was amazing!
